Does the thought of "self-care" make you roll your eyes a bit?
If you've got a never-ending list of jobs, a house that won't tidy itself, and a brain that never really switches off, you're not alone. I used to think self-care had to be a full bubble bath and an hour of peace, and honestly, I didn't have time for that either.
Between work, family, and everything else on your plate, finding time for yourself can feel impossible. And those Instagram posts showing elaborate self-care routines?
They can make you feel even more behind.
My current morning favourites are the Hydrating Day Cream and Vitamin C Serum.
They wake up my skin while my tea brews, and I'm ready to face the day feeling just a bit more put together.
Out of sight, out of mind, that was me with all the lovely balms and oils I kept meaning to use. Now, I keep a little roll-on next to the sofa, my face mist in the kitchen, and a calming cream by my bed. Just seeing them reminds me I can take 30 seconds to breathe, roll, or press pause. And that makes a difference.
This one really changed how I think about self-care. It doesn’t have to be a long routine; it just has to feel good. Lighting a candle while I clean the kitchen, sitting with a hot cup of tea for five minutes, or using a hair mask while I do the hoovering that counts. And on some days, that’s more than enough.
Last week, after a particularly chaotic afternoon, I found myself feeling frazzled by 5 pm. Instead of pushing through (my usual approach), I remembered my kitchen counter face mist. Just those 30 seconds of cooling mist and deep breathing helped me reset. These tiny moments really do add up.
Remember This
Self-care isn't about perfect routines or lengthy routine'routines. It's about finding those small moments that help you feel more like you, even in the midst of a busy day.

If you've been too busy for "you-time," I get it. But maybe, just maybe, there's a way to bring a little bit of calm into the chaos. Start small, pick one of these shifts, and see how it feels. That's all self-care needs to be. I'd love to know - which of these might you try this week? Or do you have your own tiny self-care hack to share? If you're looking for a few easy products that fit into your day without the faff, I've shared some of my favourites here 💚
