Summer's here, and if you're anything like me, you want to enjoy the sunshine, not spend ages in the bathroom.
Between lighter mornings, hotter nights, and busier days, I've been keeping things simple. No 10-step routines, just a few small swaps that help me feel fresh and put together, even when the house feels like a sauna and the to-do list's overflowing. Here's what's working for me: a no-fuss summer beauty routine to help feel your best without overcomplicating things.
Heavy creams and thick layers just don't sit right in warm weather. I've swapped out the heavier stuff for a couple of light, fresh favourites that make my summer beauty.
One thing I've loved this summer is Rose Facial Mist. I keep it in the fridge and give myself a quick spritz after a walk, or just when I feel sticky and hot. It hydrates, smells beautiful, and is easy to use, taking about three seconds to apply.
I also use Multi-Active Anti-Ageing Day Cream Light SPF 30 that sinks in quickly and doesn't leave my face feeling greasy. It gives my skin that soft, plumped-up look without making me shiny.
Last week, during the heat, I was rushing to get ready for work. Instead of my usual routine, I just spritzed my rose mist, dabbed some oil on my pulse points, and scrunched my hair with water. People asked what I'd done differently because I looked "so refreshed." Sometimes less really is more!
Humidity, sweat, and skipping wash days it's the usual summer hair struggle combo. I've kept my routine super low-maintenance this year. Instead of full wash days every other day, I've been doing quick refreshes. Just a splash of water, a few sprays of CC Hair Beautifier Leave-in Spray, and a gentle scrunch to bring my curls back to life.
I also roll a little Calm Balm Roll On near my neck if I'm feeling flustered. Not only does it help my mood, but it adds that little "I've made an effort" feeling, even if I haven't styled a thing.
By the time evening comes around, I'm usually tempted to flop straight into bed, skincare or not. So I've created a wind-down routine that takes me less than 2 minutes.
A quick cleanse with Calm & Balance Cleanser, a spritz of Relax & Recharge Sleep Face Elixir to help me relax. If I've got some extra time, I'll light a candle and hop in the bath with a Bath Bomb or Bath Oil. It's not fancy, but it helps me sleep better, and that's what really shows up on your skin the next day.
I used to roll my eyes at skincare routines, especially the ones with 10 steps. Honestly, who's got time for all that? One easy swap I've made and actually stuck to is using a Replenish & Energise Face Mist in the morning instead of toner.
It takes seconds, feels refreshing, and gives my skin a healthy little glow before I've even had my tea. It's one of those small things that helps me feel a bit more put together, even on the busy days.
Whether you're away on holiday or holding the fort at home, summer routines don't need to be complicated. A mist, a cream, and a little TLC for your hair and mood go a long way.
Let's be honest, we don't always have the time or headspace for loads of steps. But that doesn't mean we can't look and feel our best anyway.
My quick summer beauty essentials:
Morning: Hydrating face mist, light moisturiser
Throughout the day: Refrigerated facial spray, hair refresher
Evening: Quick cleanse, calming oil, light hydration
Summer Beauty Truth
The best summer routine isn't about having the most products or the longest regimen. It's about finding those few simple steps that make you feel fresh, confident, and ready to enjoy the season.
